Symposia Suggestions

The Programme Organising Committee (POC) and the Boards of ASOI, EASO and WOF have worked dynamically together to create a vibrant platform which will bring together colleagues from every area of obesity research, prevention and management.  Participants are clinicians, practitioners, physicians, nutritionists, surgeons and researchers – all experts and key opinion leaders in the field of obesity and its related conditions.   The ECO-ICO2020 programme will include a mix of plenary lectures, oral communications, poster sessions and symposia.  Help us create a conference that you want to attend. We’re welcoming suggestions for symposia so please liaise with colleagues and submit a symposium suggestion under one of the four programme tracks:

• Basic Science
• Behavioural and Public Health
• Childhood and Adolescent Obesity
• Management and Intervention

Symposia slots are either 1h or 1.5h long and the format can run to suit your topic. You should aim to cover a hot topic and speakers should come from a variety of countries. Please use this online form to submit your proposal.  The deadline for receipt of suggestions is 30 November 2019.  Late submissions will not be considered. 

Please note that this is different to the invited part of the programme.  Speakers in accepted symposia are expected to register for the congress and cover their own travel / accommodation costs. The proposer MUST ensure that all session speakers have agreed to this in advance.

Standard abstract submission will open in September 2019 with a submission deadline in January 2020. If your proposal is unsuccessful, we encourage you to submit individual abstracts. Proposers will be informed of the POC decision by mid-January 2020.
